Obituary Notice

Doris Yvonne Aronson ,age 87, of Three Rivers, MI passed away with grace and dignity on Sunday, October 20 2013 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home. Doris was born on October 8, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Samuel and Sophia(Keller)Stellar.
Doris was an independent and forward thinker. She was also an avid reader of anything controversial. She had a liberal and understanding nature, which her grandchildren especially enjoyed. She always lit up a room and kept her audience wondering what she would say next.
Doris met Fred, her tall dark and handsome, as a freshman art major at Michigan State where she proved her talent in design, a trait which carried into her life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree three years later in the morning and was married that afternoon. Between their hometowns of Grand Rapids and Chicago, was a small town that needed a veterinarian. They both loved the small town feel and spent their entire married life raising a family and enjoying their grandchildren. Thank you Mom, for always keeping the cookie jar full, for babysitting at a moments notice, and opening your home so many times to “happy wanderers”.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband of forty-seven years, Fred Aronson, D.V.M., and brother, Lionel.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory children, Diana Stauffer of Minneapolis, MN, Darcy Pryor of Santa Fe, NM, Debra (Bob)Aronstein Guilford of St. Croix, USVI, and Flip(Luella)Aronson of Three Rivers; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The three sisters wish to thank their brother and fourth sister , Lu for the constant and consistent care they gave Mom the past several months. We are truly grateful. Also the family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Riverview Manor for taking care our “Miss Hollywood”.

The Aronsons! A beautiful family. Your mom, was a much admired lady, your father a highly respected man. You girls will carry on her beauty and grace well I'm sure, while Flip & family has the proud name to uphold, the legacy continues. (Hope to see you this summer Diane) Love, Phyllis

I was reading a wonderful story about a veterinarian and thought about working for your dad when i was just a kid. Somehow I wound up here at your mothers memorial. I started to weep. I loved working for your dad and when there were no calls he would let me pull weeds around the pool so I could get full pay. Then of course there was your Mom. She was strikingly beautiful though I was barely a teen. She always made me lunch and well just made me feel like one of the kids. Hey to all you beautiful girls and to you too Flip. I am so sorry for your loss. Mark
