Service Details

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at Peek Cemetery.


Obituary Notice


William E. Hartzell, age 88, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on October 30, 1927 the son of the late Samuel and Lucille (Landis) Hartzell.

In 1947 Bill met the love of his life Lillian Hansen whom he married Oct. 29th, 1949. Bill was a contractor, building many beautiful homes in the Three Rivers Area.  With a handshake he and Harvey Day bought a farm and developed Riverdale Estates and Glenwood.  After retirement he and many of the Hartzell family enjoyed the remaining land.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife, Lillian Hartzell; one daughter, Brenda Higgins; two sons, Craig (Tina), and Bradley (Kathy) Hartzell; one brother, Robert Hartzell; two sisters, Betty Kaper and Mary Clementz; six grandchildren, Chris, Aaron, Jacob, and Bradley Hartzell, Will and Hannah Higgins; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Keegan, and Judah Hartzell.


Memorial donations in memory of William may be directed to Three Rives Hospice or the Charity of One’s Choice.  Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
