In accordance with Jan’s wishes cremation will be conducted and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Obituary Notice

Jan Maureen Pyritz, age 63, of Three Rivers passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at her home in Three Rivers.  She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on June 5, 1956 the daughter of Jack E. Pyritz Sr and Janet (Hudson) Pyritz.

She attended Three Rivers High School and graduated with the class of 1974.  She then went onto to earn her L.P.N. degree in Nursing and was employed for over forty years at Heartland Healthcare Center of Three Rivers.  Jan loved our Lord and it gives us peace knowing she is in Heaven with Jesus.  Her favorite sayings were “peace out” and “I am not involved.”

Jan was preceded in passing by her mother, Janet in 2016.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory father, Jack E. Pyritz, Sr of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Ann ( Dr. Bruce) Margulis of Bloomfield Hills, MI; Gail (Frank) Carpenter, Raleigh, NC; brother, Jack Jr (Patty) Pyritz of Wake Forest, NC; nieces, Tiffany N. Pyritz and Arianna Margulis; nephews, Jack L. Pyritz and Bruce Margulis.

Additional Information

Memorial donations may be directed to American Cancer Society. Envelopes available and may be sent to Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements

    We were so saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Jan. She was a great neighbor for so many years. I will miss our great talks in the summer when we would be doing yard work. She would come over and we would take a break and talk. She was always so positive and we seemed to easily talk about everything. I will miss those times. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all.. 💜

  2. I’m sad ! Jan has been an icon of stability for the staff at Heartland; her patients were always treated with dignity and respect. I am blessed to have worked with her for several years. Her smile and positive attitude were always uplifting. Will miss you , as well as those of us who were fortunate enough to have known you We will long remember…..😰

  3. Oh my, To Jans Family! I M so deeply sorry for your loss. She was an awesome Nurse. I was blessed to worked under her. Miss Jan, I remember working with Yu when it was called HCR Three Rivers Manor. Yu were the nurse that demanded excellence. Yu told me without saying a single word that I was a good CENA!! Ty Jan, For believing in me. I willl miss Yu sweet Lady.

  4. Jan you where so loved by so many, I’ll miss our talks every other week if you had a bit on your mind or I did you always said put it in the God box! Jan loved her family so much I feel like I know them all. She would just about do anything thing for the niece and nephews, especially Jack Logan! Love ❤️ you Jan and I miss you with all my heart! I pray and hope you and your Mom can have plenty of talks, and always put it in the God box!

  5. Jan was the best. She was my counselor and friend at our favorite spot.. She help me with best advice and always cared about myself and my girls. I’m gonna miss those deep conversations. Jan was the best

    You always carried a little bit of sound, you knew your stuff and you always had a heart for those in need! I remember when I first got into nursing you were so hard on me and never sugar coated anything but I owe it to you for your constructive criticism that has made me into the strong nurse I am today! Thank you for who you were you always were a diamond in my eyes!

  8. My deepest condolence for the sudden loss of Jan. She dedicated her life to helping others in their time of need. She was always sweet and kind for the year and a half we spent there with our loved one. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Miss Jan.

  9. Jan was a special care giver at our sisters side st Heartland. She was always upbeat and honest with us about her. Sharing her love of God and her experiences at home. Giving us smiles and hope. Missed her after Sis passed.

  11. I’m so sorry to hear of Jan’s death. She was a kind and caring woman and very good in her position at Heartland. She gave my Grandmother wonderful care when she was a resident there. Prayers to the entire Pyritz Family.

  12. Our heartfelt sympathy to Jan’s Family. She always had time to chat, not just for a minute but for awhile.
    She was a lovely person who loved life and always looked snappy whenever you would see her.
    We will miss her.

  14. Jan was a wonderful lady. I worked with her. As a nurse’s aide and when she become a nurse. I will truly miss her. She was one loving and caring person. You will truly be missed my friend.
