Service Details

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Riverside Cemetery Veteran’s Section, Three Rivers.

Obituary Notice

Mrs. Masuko Tulla, age 94, of Three Rivers, MI. passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Feb. 9th, 2020 at Grace Healthcare in Three Rivers.  She was born on March 27, 1925 in Tokyo.

Mrs. Tulla married Mr. Charles Tulla in March of 1952 and together they came to the United States.  Masuko was an avid and hard worker even into her later years, working for Continental Can, Greystone Motel, Midwest Tool and Cutlery, Big Boy Restaurant, Best Western, and even in her seventies at the Holiday Inn Express.

Mrs. Tulla was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Hice-Shutes Post #170 where she was very active.  Masuko made many lasting friendships both through work and during her retirement years.  She truly loved all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tulla was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles F. Tulla, and a beloved daughter, Gale Ann Tulla who passed in 1967.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two sons, George (Dori) and Dale (Laura) Tulla, both of Three Rivers; six grandsons, Derek and Craig Tulla, Michael Dangovian, Jason Tulla, Justin Lundstrum, and Thor Tulla. Several great-grandchildren and one special great-great-granddaughter.

Additional Information

In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170.  Envelopes available at the funeral home.

  1. George, So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She was such a hard worker yet I never heard her complain. She was always so friendly and sweet to me when I was at your house. I ache for you for the void you will have in your heart and your life now. Remember her when she was young & healthy, and keep that image in your head and heart.   2. I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. I’m Laurie’s mom I lived in the trailer park a couple of trailers from your parents. Your mom baby sat for her. She was a wonderful lady. I moved to Portage and lost track of three rivers things. I’m sorry I can’t be there in person but wanted to send along this message. Best to you both and your family. Betty Medsker

  3. George and family, I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. It’s just so hard to hear , that she has moved to her next stage . George I can still hear Her yelling “Georgie ,Georgie, you come now” what ever it was for . I remember her just like in that picture. She was always so good to me when I was at your house! Know that she’ll never be forgotten, and always live on in your heart! Rick Atkinson
