Obituary Notice

The family of Lois Helen Britton, age 89, mourns her death on April 23, 2020 at Heartland Healthcare Center of Three Rivers.  The youngest daughter of Clarence Pasch and Blanche (DeLoof), born July 4, 1930 in Kalamazoo, MI, Lois was just a few weeks shy of her 90th birthday.

Lois was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in Kalamazoo, lived within a short distance of Kalamazoo all her life, enjoyed a busy career at Newberry’s in Three Rivers, and had a few adventurous years of retirement living aboard a 27’ sailboat on Lake Michigan, and was also a lifelong Detroit Tigers Fan.  Her love for gardening was evident at every home she and her husband Bud shared.  Her creative energies inspired a wide range of creative ventures in her children and continue through the generations.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her sister Phyllis (Nuyen) of Kalamazoo and her beloved husband Virgil “Bud” Britton with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage prior to his death in 2004.  She was the proud matriarch of a family of six children who survive her,  Melissa (Dan Findlay), Robert (Marbella Mojica Figueroa), Ronald (Pam Bingaman), Linda (George Regan), Larry (Janis Smith) and Sharon (John Miller); 17 grandchildren, and a wealth of great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she adored.

  1. I just heard today of my sweet Lois passing and I am devastated. Lois was my favorite lady at Heartland. I have been doing her hair since September of 2019, and though I only knew her a short time, I grew very close to her. I loved spending Tuesday mornings styling her hair and listening to her stories. She was beautiful, kind and such a joy to be around. I looked forward to seeing her smiling face every week. She gave the best hugs and I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this time.

  2. I am so happy my son and daughter got time with you Grandma! I will cherish those moments forever. We all miss and love you so very much. I will keep our family and friends who miss her in my prayers as well. RIP Grandma. I look forward to seeing you again.

  3. Thoughts and prayers to all families and friends of the passing of Lois.
Lois was a friend and co- worker with my grandmother Orlean Boughton and I am uncertain if my mother worked with Lois at Newberry’s for a short time as well.
    🙏

  4. I could type great things I loved about my grandma, unfortunately, there’s not enough time in a day to list them all. I miss her, can’t stand it, very thankful for my time with her.
