Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home with Chris Johnson officiating. A livestream of his service is available here.
Obituary Notice
Johnny “John” Samuel Irwin, 78, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born June 28, 1943 in Three Rivers, the son of Henry and Ella “Lucille” (Cox) Irwin.
John worked for Alexander Livestock, for the city of Three Rivers Department of Public Services, as a bus driver for Arch Workshop and as a van driver for the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Edith “Edie” Irwin, whom he married December 12, 1969; nephews, Richard Irwin, Ron Irwin and Bob Lovejoy; nieces, Carol Hargrove, Sharon Hay, Karen Howard, Roxanne Irwin and Penny Steib; great-nephew, RJ Irwin; several more great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews; special friends, Randy Smith and family, TJ at the Dairy Bar, and Richard “Reg” Blasius.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Irwin, Robert Irwin and Eldon Irwin; sisters, Donna Lovejoy, Dorothy Wilcox and Betty Walters; nephew, Rodney Irwin.

Like Mike Dunlap, I too when to school with Johnny at Johnnycake school. Johnny was a good friend. He will be missed. Prayers to you Edie.
