Service Details

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. She will be laid to rest in Poe’s Cemetery at a later date.

Obituary Notice

Marcia Ann Kauffman, 80, of Three Rivers, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Bowman Place.

She was born November 25, 1942 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Herald and Maxine (Norton) Dyer, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1960.

On February 21, 1970, she married the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Kauffman. They shared 48 years together before his passing on October 4, 2018. They met at the roller rink, where they both worked.

Marcia worked at General Telephone as a draftsman until she was married. She was a stay-at-home mom until her son was in 2nd grade. She worked as a recess supervisor for Three Rivers Community Schools, and retired from there after 20 years for service.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers/Centreville for over 50 yrs. She loved to collect teddy bears, baskets, assorted antiques, and otter collectibles, her favorite animal. She was an avid artist who liked to paint and draw. She was also an amateur actor and was active with the Three Rivers Community Players for many years. Her favorite role was Mrs. Harcourt for “Anything Goes,” a role that she played in two different productions.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Jeffery (Desiree) Kauffman; grandchildren, Tabatha (Connor) Luegge, Ethen Kauffman, and John (Sierra) Miller; various nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by her parents.

Additional Information

Donations in Marcia’s memory may be directed to John Ball Zoo for the otter habitat. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

    • My deepest sympathy to you all. Marcia and Charlie were an important part of our lives. I knew them for most of my life. Charlie was a groomsman in our wedding, and Tim and I were in their wedding. Many happy and fun memories roller skating, playing cards, and just being together through the years.
      So many wonderful memories.

  3. Our condolences to Jeffrey and his family. Your mom was always happy, laughing and so talented. I enjoyed seeing all of you in one of the plays in TR years ago. We are Marcia’s high school classmates, Class of 1960, and I went to grade school with her. May God surround you with His peace, comfort and love.
