Service Details

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers, with Pastor Derl Keefer officiating. Interment will be held immediately following at the Brown Cemetery, in Millersburg, IN.

Obituary Notice

Mrs. Edna Frances (Sherer) Rink, age 93, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 13, 2024. She was born in Jasper, Alabama on October 23, 1930 the daughter of Edward and Mattie (Burgess) Sherer.

On April 15, 1950 Frances was united in marriage to Mr. Lamar Rink in Goshen, IN. where they enjoyed 70 years of marriage and raising their two daughters. Frances truly loved her family, which was everything to her. She will best be remembered for caring for her girls, her husband, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lamar; one grandson, Todd Alber, and one granddaughter, April Alber.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters, Diana Alber and Donna (Jim) Gerkin, both of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Tony (Amy) Gerkin, Chad Gerkin, Kevin (Kate) Alber, and Eric Alber; 14 great-grandchildren and two very special great-great-grandchildren.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. I can remember your Mom and Dad and have many fond memories of them both. I still reminisce over our times on Corey lake. Prayers for comfort and healing.

  2. Mrs. Rink was a long time customer when I owned the Army surplus store in downtown T.R.. Her husband wore a certain kind of pants that I sold and she always came in and bought them for him. Mrs. Rink was a very nice lady and I always enjoyed seeing her come in. The Rinks were a great couple and it saddens me to see of their demise. To her family please accept my sincere condolences. The Rinks will be missed.
