Obituary Notice
Gay Lee Warner, 81, of Three Rivers, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Edgewood Health & Rehabilitation.
She was born September 18, 1943 in Portage, the daughter of Armand J. Stowell and Maxine Briggs Stowell. Most of her education (K-12) occurred in Portage schools but she graduated from Three Rivers Adult Education, then attended Glen Oaks Community College for a semester.
Gay met and married a Portage football player, Walter Mason. This union produced a son, Kirk Mason, but did not last very long and they were divorced. After a time Jerrold Warner came into her life and they were married seven years. During those years David, Kelley, and Tracey Warner were born.
She worked for 17 years at The Tap Room, then became its owner and operator for 10 years. She later worked five years at the Three Rivers Post Office.
Most of Gay’s activities were family fun: cooking, camping, horseback riding, watching children’s sports activities, and taking snacks for the team on away games.
She loved her cats, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never quit being a mother to them, and gave to all.
Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, Kirk (Deborah) Mason; two daughters, Kelley Qualls and Tracey Warner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bobbie Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Warner; granddaughter, Amber Warner; and great-grandson, Ignacio “Nacho” Jimenez Jr.
