Service Details

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church, 17852 S. River Rd., Three Rivers, Michigan. Pastor Terry Cropper, Jr. will officiate. Visitation will take place at 11 a.m. The funeral service will start at 12 noon. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Annie McGee, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Centrica Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan, surrounded by the spirit and love of her family.

Annie McGee was born March 23, 1934, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Aaron and Luvenia (Sanders) Martin, and the second of nine children. Annie was raised in Brookhaven, Mississippi where she was a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

In 1952, she married her childhood friend, Rose McGee Jr., and they shared 57 years together prior to his passing on September 18, 2009. They spent time together fishing, taking leisure country rides throughout the Midwest, and traveling down South to their home state where they visited family and friends.

Annie was employed as a general laborer in local manufacturing. She retired from Owens Illinois in Constantine, Michigan. After her retirement, Annie dedicated her time to caring for her grandchildren.

Annie was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Three Rivers, Michigan. She enjoyed her role as Mother of the Church and socializing with her church family. Annie spent time sewing custom quilts for her children. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Annie took pleasure in canning food from her garden, cooking southern meals for her family, and singing spiritual hymns. Annie cared dearly for her dog, Penny McGee. And most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Elizabeth McGee, Bobbie (Jimmy) Mackey, Bonnie (McGee) McCord, Kenneth (Dana) McGee, Troy McGee, Ron (Betsy) McGee; her siblings, Jessie Martin, Robert Martin, Kirby Martin, Mae (Martin) Brown, and Bennie (Angela) Martin; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends Rosie Mae Kelly (sister-in-law), Lorraine Shelton, Jackie May, and Beverly Headspeth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rose McGee Jr.; sons, Roy, Thomas, and Jimmie McGee; grandson, Craig McGee; sisters, Dorothy Jean (Martin) Smith and Mattie (Martin) Kelly; brother, Troy Martin; great-granddaughter, Angel Anna Marie Henderson; and her beloved pet dog, Penny McGee.
