A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Missionary Church, 64890 US-131, Constantine, with Pastor Terry Neumayer officiating.
Obituary Notice
Janice Kay Horton, 83, of Three Rivers, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Beacon Kalamazoo surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 7, 1942 in Hastings, the daughter of Dale and Marguerite (Monica) Bassett, and graduated from Hastings High School with the Class of 1960.
Janice went on to earn her associates in nursing at Kalamazoo College – a member of their first nursing class – and became a licensed practical nurse. She worked at Borgess Hospital and in local nursing homes for 47 years until her retirement.
She loved to cook, hosting family dinners and constantly feeding her sons’ friends at their many gatherings. Her hobbies included loving all of her pets over the years, attending grandkids sporting events, gardening and attending church and serving at church and church functions.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Todd and Chad Clardy; grandchildren, Logan (Taylor), Sydney, Danielle, and Hailey Clardy; one great-granddaughter, Indie Clardy; one sister, Marcia Leedy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Kenneth Horton, in 2019.
