She was born December 27, 1942 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Rex and “Pat” (Hewitt) Blood. She was a member of 4-H and graduated from Mendon High School in 1961. While at Mendon High School, she was crowned Cherry Pie Queen in 1961.
Virginia worked at Millers Ice Cream Store, Murphy’s Dime Store, and Lords Dress Shop from 1966-1976, the last five years as the Store Manager.
She married Loren Meabon on August 2, 1975 in Three Rivers. For their 25th wedding anniversary, they enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri to see the Osmond Brothers perform.
Virginia worked as a Playground Monitor, and was involved in her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop at Park School.
She enjoyed traveling along Coastal Michigan, notably South Haven, Grand Haven, Frankfort, and Saginaw Bay. She also enjoyed traveling to the Upper Peninsula, Frankenmuth, and to Michigan State to visit her daughter.
Virginia loved gardening, shopping, purses & shoes, baking, hosting holiday dinners, crafts, sewing, and long rides – first in the Camaro, and most recently in the Mustang convertible. In the summers, the rides often ended at various ice cream parlors.
She seldom missed a hair appointment or the soap operas in the afternoon.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her husband, Loren, of Mendon; daughter, Kristi, of Three Rivers; several nieces and a nephew; brother-in-law, Calvin (Toni) Meabon of Paw Paw; special niece, Sharon (Mark) Jacobs of Three Rivers; best friend of over 70 years, Nancy (Ed) Welch of Schoolcraft; special cousin, Gary (Linda) Blood of Three Rivers; and her beloved cats, Spike and Gizmo.
