Service Details

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Hohner Funeral Home on July 31, 2026 with Pastor Donnie Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 with the memorial service beginning at 11:00. A luncheon will be served at the Ninth Street Methodist Church immediately following the service. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Obituary Notice

Betty June (Foust) Kirschenbauer entered her Heavenly Home on July 22, 2026.  She was born in White Cloud, MI on November 16, 1942, to Everett and Ruth (Hoyt) Foust.  The family relocated to Three Rivers, MI where she graduated high school in 1961. Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She married Donald Kirschenbauer on July 6, 1963, at the Ninth Street Methodist Church. She served her communities and church in various capacities. She was involved with the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging, where she both volunteered and participated in their activities, and served on the Three Rivers Zoning Board of Appeals, on the Pastor Parish Committee and with events hosted by her church family at the Ninth Street Methodist Church. She was employed by Continental Can and Stewart Sutherland before enjoying early retirement at the age of 62. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry, traveling with her sister, Sue, and the many adventures shared with her Red Hat Group. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Don, both parents; her sister, Myra Beachey; brother, Kenneth Foust, brother in Laws, Norman Beachey, Dick and Louis Kirschenbauer; father and mother-in-Law, Joseph and Lillian (Wiedmayer) Kirschenbauer, sister in Laws, Bertha (Kirschenbauer) Curtis and Theresa (Kirschenbauer) Weinberg and lifelong friends, Gus and Mary Beebe. She is survived by her children, Craig (Amy) Kirschenbauer and Jodi (Mic) Wespinter; 7 grandchildren: Taylor Kirschenbauer, Noah Kirschenbauer, Lucy Hess, Emma Hess, Tommy Hess, Mark Wespinter and Joshua (Nicole) Wespinter; 5 great grandchildren: Helen Kirschenbauer, Trent, Aubrey, Emma and Jonah Wespinter; sisters Sue (Robert Fellows) and Helen (Charles) Carpenter; sister in laws, Linda Foust and Edna Kirschenbauer, several nieces and nephews and special friends Lori Overton and Andy, Melissa and Parker Percival.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Betty’s memory are directed to Kairos Dwelling.
