Service Details

Visitation will be held Monday, August 10th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Corners Bible Church, 51047 Chamberlain Rd., Marcellus, with the funeral service beginning immediately afterward. A luncheon will follow the service.

Obituary Notice

September 20, 2000 – August 6, 2026

Mackenzie Brooke Buck was born on September 20, 2000. She left this world far too soon following a tragic accident on August 6, 2026, leaving behind a heartbroken family and countless people who loved her dearly.

Mackenzie was a precious gift from God to her parents, Raymond Leroy Buck III and Hope Marie Smith (Jason Smith). She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, cousin, friend, and fur mom—and in every one of those roles, she was loved beyond words.

Kenzie will be forever loved and remembered by her siblings, Taraa Love (Louis), Paige Felch, Destinee Brown (Blake), Arionna Buck (Wyatt), Brockton Buck (Ryli), Railee Buck, Devon Dentler, and Sophia Smith. She shared a special bond with each of them, and her place in their lives can never be replaced.

She is survived by her parents, Raymond Leroy Buck III and Hope Marie Smith (Jason Smith); grandparents, Richard Byers, Mary Eisenhart, and Julia Buck; her aunt and uncles, Kelly and James Dentler and Dianna and Mike Johnson; her cousins, Marin and Camden Dentler; nieces, Eliana Brown, Mariah Love, Brooklyn Love, and Paizley Bickings; nephews, Ty Thompson, “Little” Lou Love, and Graysynn Bickings; her beloved friend, Tyler Lovelace; and so many other relatives and friends who were lucky enough to know and love her.

To know Mackenzie was to know how deeply she loved animals. She was a devoted fur mom to Finley, Stella, and Ireigna, and she had a heart that seemed to have a special place for every living creature. She was gentle, caring, and compassionate, and she never hesitated to show love to an animal in need. Her pets were not simply animals to her—they were family.

Mackenzie had a beautiful spirit and a personality that made her impossible to forget. She was beautiful on the outside, but it was her heart that truly made her shine. She loved being in the water and had a natural athletic ability that was evident during her time at Lake Michigan College, where she played volleyball. She was strong, determined, and full of life.

The many names she answered to—Kenzie, Mack, Kenny, Roo Bug, and Kenz—each tell a little story of the relationships she shared. They were names born from love, laughter, family, friendship, and memories that will now be treasured forever. She meant something different to everyone, but to everyone who knew her, she was simply Mackenzie: loving, beautiful, funny, kind, and unforgettable.

Mackenzie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nadine Brown; her uncle, Thomas Randall; her grandfathers, Tom Eisenhart, and Raymond Leroy Buck JR. and her brother, Tyler Hartzell. We find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those she loved and lost, even as we struggle with the emptiness her absence has left behind.

Forever our Kenzie. Forever our Mack. Forever our Roo Bug. Forever loved.
