Obituary Notice

Randy W. McClain, 70, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital.

He was born December 24, 1955, in Sturgis, the son of Albert D. and Gladys M. (Wright) McClain. Randy graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1974.

Randy spent his childhood on the family farm, where his love for the great outdoors began. He developed a lifelong passion for nature, hunting, and fishing. Interests he carried with him throughout his life. Randy loved reminiscing about his childhood and sharing his appreciation for the outdoors with others.

Randy worked for Armstrong International for 39 years, holding several positions throughout his career, including Trap Survey Team member, CNC Operator, and Warehouse Manager. He cherished the camaraderie of his coworkers, the breakroom card games, and the family he built during his many years there.

Randy met his wife, Patricia Hochstetler, in 1985, and married on January 17, 1992. Together, they shared more than 40 years of memories, including working on their hobby farm, family reunions, firework competitions at the lake, camping, coaching Little League, playing euchre, and mushroom hunting.

Randy had a passion for motorcycles and a love for all things with a motor, which he proudly shared with his children. He often reminisced about his days of drag racing and teaching his sons to ride at an early age. Above all, Randy was a true outdoorsman. He found great joy in hunting, fishing, deer camp, and the countless memories made along the way. His love of the outdoors, sense of adventure, and stories of days gone by will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Patricia McClain; sons, Rusty (Sheena) McClain and Steve (Tasha) McClain; daughter, Stephanie McClain; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Audrina, and Marshall; brothers, Gary (Mary) McClain and Barney McClain; and sister, Nancy Hurst.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kurt McClain.

Randy will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for the outdoors, his adventurous spirit, and the many stories and memories he shared with those he loved.
