Service Details

Visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Barringer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Schoolcraft Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Wilma June Rozeboom, 98, of Schoolcraft, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 15, 1928 in Shelby, Michigan, the daughter of Vern and Doris (Dearborn) Best.

While attending nursing school in Muskegon, she met her future husband, John Green Rozeboom, on a blind date before John was deployed to Japan in World War II. The couple married August 27, 1948 and shared 49 years together before his passing in 1997. Wilma enjoyed sewing, playing piano, gardening, birds in the backyard, and playing cards, but most of all she loved spending time with family.

John and Wilma raised eight children in Kalamazoo where John worked as a civil engineer for the city of Kalamazoo before moving to Schoolcraft in 1972. With her tremendous family and caretaking skills, Wilma relished her role as a stay-at-home mom. She was involved with the PTA, school activities, as well as activities like singing in the choir and bible studies at First Baptist Church in Three Rivers. She was a leader in whatever she did.

Wilma had a smile that warmed everyone she met. Her compassionate heart and uplifting words wrapped up with a surprising wit embraced all those around her. But most of all, her dedication to her heavenly Father directed her words of wisdom and acts of kindness daily. Making time to sit with Jesus and meditate on His word was a daily routine. The result was an emanating loving kindness that blessed all those around her.

Remaining to cherish her memory are three sons, James (Mary) Rozeboom, David Rozeboom, and Paul (Julia) Rozeboom; three daughters, Dianne (Michael) Martin, Sandra Rozeboom, and Jennifer (Roger) Doorn; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3+ great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John Rozeboom; daughter, Ruth Garrett; grandsons, Aaron Martin and Paul Dean Rozeboom; along with her two sisters, Odula Reed and Clara Miller.
