In Loving Memory of Mary Jo Pattenaude
Mary Jo Pattenaude, 51, of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026, at her home.
She was born October 28, 1974, in Redford Township, the daughter of Walter and Michele (Teehan) Pattenaude.
She spent the last 38 years with the love of her life, David Havens. Mary and David met in the summer of 1988 in Ecorse, Michigan where they both grew up and spent most of their lives. They were inseparable since that moment. Their biggest accomplishment during their time together was raising four beautiful children.
Mary Jo found happiness in the simple things in life. Lakes and sunshine were her happy place. She enjoyed watching football on Sundays, reading, playing games, and doing word searches. Mary Jo cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as her friends and loved ones.
Above all else, she was an incredible Mom and Grandma, but her capacity to love extended far beyond her own children and grandchildren. Mary Jo had a remarkable way of connecting with people and making them feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for. Whether someone had known her for a lifetime or had simply crossed her path, she had a way of leaving a little warmth behind.
Her love was generous and unconditional. She listened, encouraged, comforted, celebrated, and showed up for the people she cared about. She remembered the little things that mattered, and her kindness, laughter, compassion, and genuine interest in others made people feel welcome and at home.
To her children, she was Mom. To her grandchildren, she was Grandma. To so many others, she was a trusted friend, a source of comfort, and someone they could always turn to.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her mother, Michele Darcy; husband, David Havens; sons, Jacob (Katerina Sutherland) Pattenaude and Jordan (Helen Surdick) Pattenaude; daughters, Chelsea (Logan) Harbin, Emily (Michael Lee) Pattenaude, Margret Ruedger; four grandchildren, Avery, Marshall, Braydin, and Evelyn; brothers, Eric Pattenaude and Brandon Pattenaude; and sister, Heather Bryant.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Pattenaude, step-father, Thomas Darcy; and her brother, Ryan Pattenaude.
Mary Jo’s greatest legacy will not be measured in accomplishments or possessions, but in the countless lives she touched. She made people feel loved, cared for, and important. The warmth she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in all of us, always.

My heart goes out to the entire family I grew up on Pleasant street just 2 doors away and we played as little girls together. Mary Jo will be greatly missed!
Mary, I will never forget you and the bright light you carried with you and shared with those around you. You really had a way of making everyone feel so special. My heart goes out to Chelsea, David, the grand babies and anyone else feeling the pain of her missed presence. You will be forever remembered.
