Obituary Notice
David L. Bent completed his earthly service and joined the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2025 surrounded by family. He was born August 9, 1937 to the late Leon and Lucille Bent of Marcellus, Michigan.
David is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Phyllis, and his children, David (Lari) Bent Jr., Michele (Frank) Oswald, Lynette (William) Benn, and Tina (Marty) Boyer, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by Joyce Peters Bent, his brother, William Bent, and his son-in-law, Steve Kidney.
A farmer since childhood, David loved tending the land, caring for his animals, and providing for the people around him. It was his pride, joy, and purpose. He never truly retired, always seeing opportunities to get up and go work in the barn, the fields, or even his grandkids’ yards. Regardless of what he was working on, he did it with a joyful heart and devoted spirit, never grumbling or complaining. Alongside farming, David drove the school bus for Three Rivers Community Schools for 28 years. The kids he drove, now adults, remember him for his kindness and consistency. He never worked for applause or attention, but rather as service to the Lord. He was exceptionally generous, always seeing the best in everyone he met, and giving generously to care for his church, his community, and most passionately: his family. His joy was contagious and making people laugh was one of his most treasured gifts. David will be remembered for many things, including his humility, hard work, infectious laugh, and the fierce way he loved and supported his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He will be missed.
His family has my deepest, heartfelt condolences, and you all are in my thoughts and prayers
He was a great guy. I was a co worker of his until he retired. My thought and prayers goes out to his family and friends
Dave was quite the gentleman. He had a great sense of humor. It was a pleasure knowing him. He showed up to all events Christmas, birthdays, graduations whatever the case may be for a family member he was there. A big void has been left in the Bent family, but praying that memories and laughter will sustain them.
We remember being neighbors with Dave and Phylis. It was always a joy to talk with Dave on a variety of subjects and of coarse farming was one of them. He also were partners with us in ministry in South Africa. Only eternity and the Lord knows the full impact that was to us and those we ministered to in South Africa. Our prayer goes to the Lord to give comfort and peace to the Bent family as they mourn the lost of husband, dad, grandpa, etc.
Only had the pleasure of meeting David a handful of times, but he certainly left his mark on our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers for the family during this time of loss.

Our prayers go out to the Bent family. Dave was a wonderful man. He was dedicated to driving a school bus for TR Community Schools, our 4 children had the pleasure of being on his bus route. You never had to worry, they were very safe under his watch. May he rest in peace.
