Service Details

His family will receive friends Thursday, July 31, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor John Sears officiating. He will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in South Haven. A video of his funeral service is available here.

Obituary Notice

David Michael Burris, 73, of Three Rivers, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 27, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 19, 1952 in Allegan, the son of Clyde M. and Shirley J. (Munn) Burris, and graduated from Bloomingdale High School with the Class of 1971.

David worked for General Motors in both Three Rivers and in Kokomo, Ind. for 30 years.

On June 24, 1978, he married Barbara Baxter and became an instant family man.

David was very active at Three Rivers Bible Church and Victory Baptist Church. He served as a Boy Scout leader in Constantine, and enjoyed family activities – especially fishing, sockball, and tinkering around the garage/shed.

David was kind, friendly, and reliable.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Barb Burris; son, Randy (Monica) Westerfield; daughter, Melissa (Mike) Eveland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Shirley Winn; brother, Terry (Belle) Burris; sisters, Peggy (Dave) Rath, Nan Emmert, and Michelle (Brent) Wilson; beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Burris.

Additional Information

Donations in David’s memory may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

  1. Barb and family, Bill and I want to send our sincere condolences for your lose of Dave.
    But what a blessing it is that the second he left us he was on heaven’s shore with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
    Ps. 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
    Oh what a day it will be when we’re all together with our Lord and celebrate in the Hallelujah, chorus! Until then God Bless you and your family, knowing you will be in our prayers. Love you Barb!!

  2. I’m very sorry for your loss. I’ve known Barb and Dave for many years. My daughter Michelle and Melissa have been best friends since grade school. Thoughts and prayers to you all. He was a very kind man and a wonderful father and husband.
