Obituary Notice

Dean Edward Griffin, 62, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.

He was born March 31, 1960 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Dr. B.D. and Margaret (Heron) Griffin, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1978. He attended Glen Oaks Community College.

While in high school, Dean met his sweetheart Nancy Pearrow, and the couple married on May 16, 1981. They enjoyed spending time with family, being on the lake, and traveling to Scotland and throughout the United States.

He worked hard and provided well for his family. He was a dedicated employee of General Motors/American Axle & Manufacturing for 30 years; following retirement, he became the well-loved building & grounds manager at First Presbyterian Church Three Rivers/Centreville.

When not on the job, Dean kept busy around the house. He loved the outdoors, especially rides on his Harley, his golf cart and his boat. A natural-born talker, he enjoyed meeting people and visiting with friends. He was a member of the Three Rivers Elks and the American Legion.

As much as he loved the sounds of tools and of nature, the sound of his family together was his favorite. He was the greatest dad – he just loved his family and told them that all the time. The highlight of his life was being at the birth of his two grandchildren and eagerly awaiting the arrival of a third.

Remaining to cherish Dean’s memory are his wife, Nancy Griffin; daughters, Megan (Patrick) Tkacz of Portage and Stephanie (Ryan) Griffin-Wolgast of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Max, Ella, and one on the way; brothers-in-law, Herb Pearrow and Larry Pearrow; niece and nephew, Jill (Will) Roberts and Nathan Pearrow; cousin, Alan Pike of Scotland; Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob Tindall of St. Louis, Missouri; Aunt Priscilla Preston of Chester, Ill.; and several cousins in Chester, Ill.
