Service Details

Her family will receive friends Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Erick Penn officiating. She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Denise Catherine Masters, 72, of Three Rivers, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Thurston Woods Village surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 30, 1952 in Chicago, Ill. to Michael P. and Maria E. (Sevening) Masters, and graduated from Visitation High School with the Class of 1970. She later earned her associate’s degree from Glen Oaks Community College.

Denise worked as a secretary for the Michigan Department of Corrections for 17 years, managing case work for eight probation/parole agents.

She enjoyed tending her large vegetable garden and canning its produce, as well as cross-stitching, crafting, and snowmen. She especially loved going on adventures with her sister Donna.

Denise was a caring, giving, thoughtful woman who put others’ needs above her own.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Brian (Tracey) Chobot and Ed (Katie) Chobot; daughters, Dawn (Shane) Griffith, Bridget (Rob) Griffioen, and Kristine (Randy) Schultz; grandchildren, Payton, Bailey, Ben, Cameron, Evan, Abigail, Robbie, Zach, Brady, Avianna, Levi, and Rhylee; brothers, Danny Masters and Michael (Diane) Masters; sister, Donna Phelan; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Pat Masters; and brother-in-law, Jack Phelan.

Additional Information

Donations in Denise’s memory may be directed to Riverside Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
