The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of services beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Hohner Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.

  

Obituary Notice

Duane “Bing” Harold Bingaman, age 90, of Three Rivers passed away on December 4, 2018.  He was born on August 20, 1928 in Battle Creek, MI, the only child of the late Harold and Eula (Keeney) Bingaman.  He graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Mary Marie Modert of Three Rivers on June 4, 1949 and was widowed after 52 years of marriage.

Bing worked at Doc Foundry in Three Rivers, from 1946 thru 1954; Johnson Corporation in Three Rivers, from 1954 thru 1970;  Babcock Overhead Door Company, from 1970 thru 1972 and returned to Johnson Corporation where he retired in 1990 after 35 years.  He was a volunteer fireman with the Lockport Fabius and Park Township Fire Department.  Bing was very active in Masonic Lodge 57, becoming Master of the Blue Lodge in 1967. He was also active with Commandery and The Shriners, where he transported many children to the Shriners Hospital in Chicago.

He enjoyed playing the guitar (with the Water Joint Boys), golf, and attended many school and athletic events for both his children and grandchildren.   While attending his grandkids sporting events he was known as “Grandpa Bing” to both kids and adults.

After retirement, Bing and Mary enjoyed traveling and visited 49 of the 50 states.

Bing is survived by four children; Dan (Wanda) Bingaman of Battle Creek, Pam (Ron) Britton of Three Rivers, Doug (Kathy) Bingaman of Three Rivers, and Dennis (Cyndi) Bingaman of Three Rivers; ten grandchildren, Brad (Jessica), Tyler (Julie), Stacy, Brian (Chylynn), Tricia (John), Jason (JayCe), Jeff (Brooke), Dustin (Jennifer), McKenna and Zach; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Additional Information

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Grace Healthcare of Three Rivers, Alzheimer’s Association, or Southern Care Hospice of Kalamazoo. Envelopes available at the funeral home.

  1. My Dad was Bing’s roommate at Grace. Bing always had a smile, a handshake, a twinkle in his eye, (sometimes a wink for me or my sisters), and the coolest, smoothest voice around.
    We will all miss him, and I feel honored to have known Bing, even if for a short time. My deepest condolences for his family and friends ❤️

  2. Duane and I were both called Bing,we were first cousins,whenever I went back to TR I’d look up Duane,we could talk for hours,I always enjoyed being with him,he was more than just a cousin,he was a good friend,gonna miss ya cous.

  3. Jim & I both worked with Bing for many years at The JOHNSON Corporation until his retirement. He always had a smile on his face!! Was a super nice guy.
    May the lord wrap his arms around the family and comfort them during this difficult time. Rest In Peace with the angels above Bing. God Bless.
