His family will receive friends Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary Notice
Fred Carl Poddig Jr., 81, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home.
He was born July 29, 1943 in Grand Rapids, the son of Carl and Cecilia (Galdis) Poddig, and graduated from Portage Central High School.
Fred worked at the A&P Store, sold real estate, then was a salesman for Schwan’s Home Delivery before branching off on his own to start Fred’s Home Delivery.
On April 2, 1988, he married Delila Green. Together they enjoyed boating and traveling.
A jovial man who loved to laugh, Fred enjoyed spending time – especially summers – at Hardy Dam and Long Lake. He was a member of the Three Rivers Eagles and the Three Rivers Elks.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his sons, Steve (Rhoda) Estes and Greg (Mary) Estes; daughters, Becky (Ken) Goodwin, Anna Martin, and Mary (Scott) Rowe; brother, Bruce (Charlotte) Isbell; sisters, Kathy (Jeff) McIver and Nancee Robinson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delila Poddig; sister, Arlene Wagner; and one granddaughter.

Donations in Fred’s memory may be directed to the Three Rivers Eagles or the Three Rivers Elks. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Fred was one of our first people we met when we came to Long lake 14 years ago. We had many good times and many laughs. So happy to have known him. Our deepest of Sympathy to the family and friends that were so close to him.
I’m going to miss Fred he was a special friend to me and my mother. Enjoyed spending time on the pontoon and swimming. Fly high my friend
I always enjoyed listening to Fred’s stories at the Elks. He will be missed.
