He was born August 28, 1950 in Piqua, Ohio, the son of Harry L. and Lelia (Hull) Gruber.
Harry served his country in the United States Army from 1968-70, seeing combat in Vietnam. He was highly decorated, receiving a Bronze Star, an Air Medal with two Bronze Stars, and a Sharpshooter Medal.
A beloved family man, Harry enjoyed hosting cookouts – he was always the cook. He was an avid fisherman, camper, and hunter, as well as a talented woodworker, crafting beautiful pieces for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church bazaars and the church itself. Though introverted with strangers, with family he had a great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Maxton O. Harrington; and nephew, Rick Gamble.
