Service Details

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church in Three Rivers. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church.

Obituary Notice

Howard Roth, 90, of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025. Howard was born in Eaton County, Oneida Township, Michigan, the son of Arthur and Anna Roth.
He grew up working the family farm and graduated from Grand Ledge High School before continuing his education at Olivet College and University of Chicago Divinity School.
On July 20, 1963, he married Mary “Molly” Zimont; they shared 57 years together before her passing in 2021. Remaining to cherish his memory are two sons; Mark Roth (Tracey Johnson) and Matthew (Amy) Roth; daughter, Melissa Roth; and sister, Donna Ito.
Howard worked as a minister at the First Congregational Church in Constantine, then after his family grew, he worked at Cardinal Construction, Kirsch, Kalamazoo State Hospital, and eventually retired from Owens Illinois.
Howard and Molly loved their adventures and traveling together. Howard was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers/Centreville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends at the lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Molly Roth; and three brothers, Charles, Roger, and Glenn.

Additional Information

In lieu of flowers and per Howard’s wishes, donations in Howard’s memory may be directed in honor of Molly Roth to the Constantine Area Community Foundation or the Three Rivers Promise. Envelopes will be available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of his arrangements.

  1. My condolences to the Roth family on the recent passing of Howard. Our family has so many happy memories of our times together on Fisher Lake. Howard and Mollie were the best of neighbors because they were the best of people. They will both be dearly missed.

  2. It was always so much fun to talk with Howard about Life and all of things going on in this crazy world !! I loved the special way that only Howard could explain things so that you could understand them just a little bit better !! I’ll miss you ol buddy,, until we meet again !!

  3. Having known Howard as our next door neighbor in Michigan was an honor. He would always see us drive up the shared drive and wait for us to open our car doors and say “ Welcome to Paradise”. Howard.. you were part of our paradise at the lake and are loved and will be missed by the immediate Wybourn Three Rivers and extended Wybourn family. Abagale also misses your kindness to great her outside. Rest in Peace.
