Obituary Notice

Jaclynn Dee “Jackie” Havens, 78, of White Pigeon, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Elkhart General Hospital with her loving husband at her side.

She was born March 25, 1947 in Three Rivers, the daughter of James and Ilene (Brewer) Oswalt, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1965.

Jackie worked as the office manager for H&R Block for 15 years.

On June 19, 1965 she married her soulmate, Michael Hewitt “Mike” Havens. From their childhood friendship at First Presbyterian Church through 60 years of marriage, the two shared a beautiful relationship.

Jackie was a very compassionate person, especially for animals, and she and Mike had horses for more than 40 years. They were members of the Michigan Quarter Horse Association and showed horses throughout the United States.

She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, class reunion organizer, and was heavily involved with planning committee for the 1960s class reunions held in downtown Three Rivers.

Jackie’s life was marked by structure, integrity, and fashion – she was always impeccably dressed!

She is survived by her husband, Mike, and by her brother, Marty (Melanie) Oswalt. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Havens, in 2021.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear.”
