In accordance with family wishes, cremation has been conducted and a celebration of life for Janice will be held at a later date.

Obituary Notice

Janice Haas, 79, of Three Rivers, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born January 13, 1945 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Clifford and Marie (Sherry) Hartzell, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1963.

Janice was a cook for many years at Happy Landing of Corey Lake, Dip n Dunk, and Paisano’s Restaurant.

On November 2, 1985, she married Cecil Haas; they shared 38 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2018.

Janice loved her TV time which included watching NASCAR races. She adored her grandchildren and was always there to attend all of their activities and events. She was very active and always made sure to keep her friends and family on their toes at all times.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Cecil; son, Andy Tessin; twin sister, Janet; brothers; Dick and Butch Hartzell.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Bill (Sarah) Tessin; daughters, Angela (Brian) Dale and Jennifer (Scott) Carter; grandchildren, Riley, Annika, Dylan, Chaz, and Cody.

Additional Information

Donations in Janice’s memory may be directed to The Haas Family in care of Jennifer Carter. Envelopes are available and may be sent to Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

  1. So sorry to hear this. We were in the same class at TR, and we rode the same bus. Janice and her sister, Janet came to our church—same teen group. We had fun. We worked at Essex Wire together for a time. I remember going for a 1 AM ride through purgatory yelling for Chloe at the top of our lungs! And laughing. And we were sober! So many memories. So sorry to have lost touch. Condolences to her family.
