Service Details

His family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Brenda Deily officiating. He will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Jeffrey Charles Myers, 57, of Portage, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at his home.

He was born January 10, 1967 in Kalamazoo, the son of Larry Joe and Maryjane (Borger) Myers, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1985.

Jeff was employed for 23 years at Goodwill Industries, where he enjoyed seeing his co-workers and all of the customers.

He enjoyed helping his Dad rebuild a car during his high school years, he liked to drive, enjoyed going on the boat with family, in younger years he liked to swim, roller skate and sit on the porch with his Grandpa Harry and watch cars go by. His favorite thing in high school was being the manager for the football and wrestling teams.

Jeff was always there with a smile and a laugh. He made the best of any situation. He loved listening to Country music especially George Strait.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his sisters, Christine Myers and Kelly (Bryan) Sallmen; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Myers; paternal grandparents, Ruth and Harry Myers; and maternal grandparents, Mary and Carroll Borger.

Additional Information

Donations in Jeff’s memory may be directed to Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

  1. I remember coffee with Mary Jane and our kids. Our kids were close in age.
    I loved being able to continue to see and visit with Jeff at Goodwill. He always had a smile and joyful greeting. I will miss him so much. Goodwill just won’t be the same. Jeff was the official greeter to so many.
    I am just now reading this, August 20, I would have surely wanted to attend had I known.

  2. Jeff was such a nice person I looked forward in seeing him everytime I was at goodwill. Always had a smile on his face. Very polite and wonderful person. This isn’t goodbye it’s see you again 1 day. You will be missed

  3. I often visited the Goodwill Store in Three Rivers. Jeff would just light up the whole store with a smile and would be so helpful!! I will miss seeing him when I visit the store.

    • Jeff was an amazing Brother-in-law. He always had a smile on his face, worked hard, and took every opportunity to be around family. He always made a point to shake my hand and ask how i was doing every time i saw him. He will truly be missed.

  4. When I was married in 1971 we lived at Pleasant Lake. Larry and Mary lived in the other side of the duplex. Jeff would walk over and look in the slider door and just smile that great big smile. I knew he wanted a cookie so I would give him a couple. He would grin from ear to ear and “waddle” off. Sure was a sweet young man. RIP in peace Jeff.

  5. I have known Jeff since we were kids when our parent were friends. Later on when I worked at Rite Aid in Three Rivers he was I frequent customer. He always made my day when he came in with that laugh and smile and conversation, he always asked how I was and made sure to say hello. I’m so very sad and I’ll miss him always.

  6. I knew Jeff, and his family, since we lived near each other on Pleasant Lake in the late 70s. So many fond memories of the days exploring, swimming, digging for fossils, building forts, riding the school bus, and just hanging out. He was a true friend no matter what. Over the years we grew apart, but when we did see each other there were always lots of smiles and laughs. This world could use more kind souls like Jeff. He will certainly be missed.

  7. Jeff was a great guy! I first met him when we worked together at Kmart. I never saw Jeff in a bad mood. He was always smiling. Then when he started working at Goodwill I would seem him quite frequently. Again, never in a bad mood. I’d ask him if he was working hard or hardly working and he’d give me that little giggle. My husband enjoyed going into GW with me and him and Jeff would joke around with each other. I was saddened to hear that he passed and my husband and I will sure miss him. We should all strive to be like Jeff. The world would be a better place.

    • I am saddened to hear this news! Goodwill will never be the same for me! I looked forward to seeing Jeffy every time I went in their! We always had a good talk. You will be greatly missed dear friend! You were full of so much love and laughter! I will miss you so very much! My thoughts are with the family and prayers!

    • Rest in peace Jeff. Your ability to smile and keep a positive attitude will be missed. It was a privilege growing up through school with you. We will miss seeing you at goodwill. Heaven has gained another angel. Our prayers go out to his family and friends in this difficult. RiP

  11. Jeff was an employee at Kmart and everytime I ran into him he would have a smile on his face and his laugh would get yuh. He would have red cheeks and like he was shy when I talked to him. He was a sweet guy. Everyone liked him. You Will be greatly miss Jeff.

Jeff was such a sweet person I met him thru my boyfriend at the time Henry Jones those 2 together were always fun and Jeff became part of our family you will surely be missed I know you and Henry are up there cutting up rite now I’m blessed to have known you Jeff see you when I get there bud my deepest condolences to your family

  13. Jeff was (by far) the most gentle, kind and happy friend I think I ever had. ALWAYS willing to help. I really have never met anybody who was more amazing as this young man. Jesus was proud of him. Jeff is with Jesus.😇😇😇😇😇

  14. Jeff will be missed in this community he always had a smile for everybody.. He worked a number of years with us at Fisher Big Wheel And would come after work in front porch sit with us. He was a great person. Rest in peace, my friend!

    • O my God where do I begin 1 year working with Jeff Fro that’s what some of the guys call him Ronnie and lady’s Tiffany he would just throw his hands up we be laughing but one thing I can say you’ll going too be miss Rest Rest in paradise until we all meet again prayers and pure condolences too the family from Goodwill
