Obituary Notice
Margaret Jean (Driskill) Nelson, 90, of Fort Myers, Fla. & Sturgis, Mich., passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 7, 1930 in Livingston County, Ky., the daughter of Bennett Cecil and Ruth (Sexton) Driskill. After the untimely death of her mother at the age of 22, Bennett remarried Lou Irene Driskill.
Margaret was employed by Continental Can in Kentucky and was transferred to Three Rivers, Mich. where she met and married Robert Oscar Nelson on April 19, 1958. After 41 years of marriage she was preceded in death by Robert. Margaret worked with her husband after they moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area and went to work for Gallagher Bassett Insurance Service after their move to Florida in 1979 and was employed there until her retirement.
Margaret was an avid bowler and loved participating in the Royal Palm Women Bowling League in Ft. Myers, Fla. Margaret was an avid sports fan and was the biggest fan of all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
She was a member of the Cypress Lake United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers, Fla. and the Women’s Club in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
Margaret was a soft spoken, gentle woman with a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her.
Remaining to cherish Margaret’s memory are son, Kenneth Edward (Judith Ann Purdy) Nelson; daughter, Nannette Ann Nelson Delago (Bernard Scott) Westfall; grandchildren, Danielle Roxanne Delago (David) Hanna, Pierre Gene (Jen) Delago III, Katherine Elizabeth Nelson (Matt) Romary, Andrew Michael Nelson & Coral Mayers; great-grandchildren, Ezra James Hanna, Millie Mae Romary, Charlotte Roxanne Hanna; brother, Bennett Lee (Marcia) Driskill; sister, Doris Driskill; and longtime friend and care giver Debbie Wood Voss.

Donations in Margaret’s memory may be directed to Three Rivers Home Health and Hospice. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of her arrangements.
