In accordance with family wishes, cremation will be conducted. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers.
Obituary Notice
Mark Anthony Ames, 67, of Three Rivers, passed away April 22, 2024 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
He was born on October 1, 1956 in Three Rivers, the son of Claude and Amy (Parker) Ames. He graduated from Constantine High School.
Mark spent his whole life in Three Rivers. He was a dedicated employee of American Metal Fab for almost 40 years. He was a machine operator and welder.
His true passion was reptiles. He loved to collect animals when he was young. He was well known as Marks Reptiles for many years. Mark loved to teach and show kids how to take care of reptiles. Mark did shows at Chow Hound, Family Farm and Home, B&G, and many schools and parties. He was going to start shows at Scidmore Park for the kids on Saturdays. Mark also loved drag racing with his son Curtis which started when he was young. He loved fishing and his dogs, reptiles.
Mark was loved by everyone that met him. He had the greatest laugh.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his son, Curtis Ames; daughter, Amy (Eric) VanEvey; grandchildren, Searra Goheen, Gavin VanEvey, Kendra Pollitt, and Kristy Barks; great-grandson, Kane Gary-Gene Nichols; brother, Claude (Cecilia) Ames; sisters, Norma (Ed) Strobel and Sandy (Jim) Griffith; many reptile friends that were special, Kelly, Tony, Jim, Mike and many more; his good friend George.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Amy Ames; brothers, Don Paul and Dwight Ames; sister, Claudette (Ames) Zablocki.
Additional Information
Donations in Mark’s memory may be directed to family or a favorite charity. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

What a shock to read of Mark’s passing. My condolences to the family. Mark was a childhood friend. I will always remember his family as loving and kind.

Mark he was one of my best friend he would offer to pay me if I help him I would say Mark friends don’t take money for helping put it away .I will miss him
