Obituary Notice

Philip Theodore Casimir Kalinoski, age 47, of White Pigeon passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. During the last few months he recovered from several health complications. The day he was scheduled to return home, sudden fatal problems arose. He was surrounded by family in his final days.

He was born August 4, 1975 in Smithtown, NY, the son of Stanley and Sharon (Madigan) Kalinoski, and graduated from LaSalle Military Academy with the Class of 1993.

Philip was engaged to be married to Susie Magori on July 5, 2021. His unconditional love was evident in every aspect of their relationship. He was a dedicated partner to her for six years.

He has worked for various service industries over the years. One of his most recent jobs was building ambulances. Phil loved sharing pictures of the completed vehicles and took pride in all his work.

Philip loved being outside. Whether skiing down Hunter Mountain as a child, somersaulting into a swimming pool, kayaking on the St. Joseph River, or finding a serene spot to relax in his brother’s backyard; his affinity for nature was apparent. He had a contagious sense of humor and knew how to make everyone laugh and smile. He was a source of joy and comfort to all that knew him.

In recent years, he became a Cursillista after making his Cursillo – a “Short Course in Christian Community Living.” This was a special weekend for him and strengthened his devotion to God. De Colores!

Remaining to cherish Philip’s memory are his fiancée, Susie Magori; his parents, Stanley and Sharon Kalinoski; his brothers, Keith and Luke Kalinoski; his sisters-in-law, Kathy and Kate Kalinoski; his godson, Oliver Kalinoski; his niece, Lily Kalinoski; father and mother-in-law-to-be, Tim and Char; stepdaughter, Hope (Jonathan); grandchildren, Emma, Kayden, and Liam; and all adored family and friends.

Additional Information

Donations in Philip’s memory may be directed toward the Diocese of Kalamazoo (Cursillo on the memo line) or the organization closest to your heart, as Phil would have wished.

  1. If Phil were the one who was leaving this condolence comment, I think he would have written
    “Jak sie masz”.

    The Kalinoski family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I was blessed to have had Phil in my life. He was an incredibly important part of the person I am today. Memories we shared together, moments no one else will know, I will hold them close to me and never let them go.
All I can see when I close my eyes is his smile and hear his laugh. He and Sampson are in my heart forever. I loved him very very much and to say i miss him is an understatement.
I find peace and acceptance that he is with Jesus and he was taken in God’s time.
I promise to remember him always and treat others as phil did. Phil loved life and lived for each new day making friends and lasting memories all along the way.
    With deepest sympathy,
    ♡~ Kelly
