A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at noon at the Sturgis American Legion, 500 W. Chicago Rd.
Obituary Notice
Richard Buys, 54, of Three Rivers passed away at home on April 7, 2021. He was born in Sturgis, MI, on December 3, 1966, the son of the late Albert and Stella (Kanouse) Buys. He remained a life long resident of Michigan living in different parts throughout his life.
He had a wonderful smile and great sense of humor. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He was a hard worker who specialized in fiberglass repair. When not working he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved gathering with family and friends during summer cookouts. Above all Richard loved his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren. He leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish.
On February 12, 2016, he married Julie (Pufall) Buys who survives. He is also survived by three daughters. Kelsey (Steven Lester) Buys, Alicia (Lance) Stielau, Cristy Buys; two step-sons, Zachary and Derek Hufford; eleven grandchildren, Blayke Buys, Jensen and Lucy Lester, Hannah, Parker, Oakleigh and Everleigh Stielau, Kylee Wiler; Isabella Howard, Aleah and Zoey Fults; many siblings, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also preceded in passing by a nephew, Charlie Peffer.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Rich for a few years at Prodesign in Middlebury( formerly Viking) . He was always so nice and kind. He worked as a welder in the mold shop where I worked in mold repair. Fly high with the angels Rich. RIP
