Obituary Notice
Rosetta Elizabeth Hinton Lind, 33, of Three Rivers, Michigan died on 6 June 2023 due to complications from an 18-year struggle with type 1 diabetes. Rosetta was born on 29 July 1989 in Three Rivers. At the age of five she was adopted into the family of Suzanne and Timothy Lind, also of Three Rivers. As a child she spent five years living with her family in Durban, South Africa. In 2007 Rosetta accompanied her parents to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where she attended The American School of Kinshasa, graduating in 2009. After returning to the U.S., she completed a CNA certification and began working as a home health care provider.
Rose brought into the world a great gift for relating to people of all ages and situations. She always sought out open and welcoming engagement with others, and was rarely intimidated by power or position. She had a bright spirit of openness and acceptance that embraced everyone regardless of their abilities, beliefs, race or other distinctives. She carried that spirit with her throughout her diverse educational experiences, communities, and cultural encounters, and to the hearts of her family and friends. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her many friends here and around the world, and by her parents, sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, aunts, and uncles from both her adoptive and her birth families.

Our dear Sister Rose. I still remember you and your smile in Durban, South Africa and Kinshasa, Congo. This image of a welcoming and loving person will remain for ever.
Tim, Suzanne and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Such a great smile and personality. She was a bright light in everyone’s life and for the short time I knew her. I am at a total loss for words. Fly high angel …..
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Such a sad time. I remember the first time we met Rose, it was at EMU when your family had come down to see Ellie. She was so friendly, don’t think she ever met a stranger! She will be missed.
Dearest Suzanne & Tim, my heart & prayers go out to you & the rest of the family. Rosa fought a long hard battle with her disease and now she has quit fighting as our Father holds her in the palm of His hand. I pray that our Father gives you all peace & love as you grieve her loss. Much love to you all, Alice
My heart holds the girl I knew in Sunday school and this achingly poignant moment. I’m so sorry for her death and everlastingly grateful for her life.
