Service Details

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Grant Chapel AME Church, 411 4th Ave, Three Rivers, MI 49093 with Pastor Barbara Brown officiating.

Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.

Obituary Notice

Carla Vanessa Bryant, age 53, of Three Rivers, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Chicago, IL., on July 6, 1966 the daughter of Mr. Carl and Ophelia (House) Bryant.

Carla graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1984.  She then went to work as an administrator and coordinator for the PepsiCo Corporation until she became ill.  She was an avid member of the Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church and loved her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a beloved daughter, Harper Payton Bryant; her mother, Ophelia Bryant; one brother, Reginald B. Ledsinger, of Pontiac, MI., and one niece Toccara R. Ledsinger and great-nephew, Clarence Henry Cohen; host of cousins.

Additional Information

Memorial donations may be directed to the Charity of One’s Choice.  Envelopes available at the church or Hohner Funeral Home.

    • Carla Vanessa Bryant is a 53-year-old mother, who was in Three Rivers, Michigan. We will always love you so very much and we’ll be looking forward to seeing you again at the funeral!

  1. My dear friend has passed on to be with the Lord. We shared many great times over the years. Your Godson, Nicholas remembers fondly spending time with you in Atlanta. Sydney and Eric loved you too. My condolences to your mom, Harper and the rest of the family. Rest in peace.

  3. Deeply saddened by Carla’s passing so young. I have fond memories of Carla, which makes her passing difficult.

    She always displayed a vibrant and colorful spirit, one which others gravitated to.

    I am lucky to have known Carla and thank her for the memories that carry on.

    Rest in piece my friend, you will be greatly missed.
