Service Details

In accordance with Ann’s wishes cremation will be conducted and the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of scripture services beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Hohner Funeral Home with Fr. Mathias officiating.  

Obituary Notice

Mrs. Ann Ruth “Cam” Battishill, 92, of Three Rivers passed away Friday evening August 9, 2019 at Grace Heathcare in Three Rivers.

She was born November 19, 1926 in Portage du Fort, Quebec, Canada, to the late Joseph O’Kane and Catherine Elizabeth (Loonam) Cameron. She was married to David Gates “Dave” Battishill, in Detroit. Dave passed away November 18, 1987.

Surviving are a son, David A. (Barbara) Battishill of Waverly, New York; daughters Cynthia A. (Jim) Hackenberg of Three Rivers, and Claudia E. Lewis of Constantine; three grand-children; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Her brothers, Joe, Robert, Edmond and Owen Cameron, and sisters Nell Coyne, Vera and Bertha Cameron, Romanus Darrah, and Fern Cahill preceded her in death. Ann was the youngest of the ten Cameron children.

As a young woman Cam worked in a variety of office positions in Detroit before meeting Dave and moving to the west side of Michigan. First was the Coldwater area, then Vicksburg and finally settling in Three Rivers for the last 60 years. She continued her work experience as a long distance operator for General Telephone. She made many friends and colleagues from her time at GTE.

  1. It was such a blessing to know Ann. She wore a sweet smile on her face every day, no matter how it went. She was so kind and gentle. She had a glow on her face whenever her loved ones were visiting. It was so special to witness the love she held onto. I’m grateful to have spent time with her and she will be missed greatly. xo
