Remembering Annie

Surrounded by the love of her family, Annie Marie Norris peacefully entered her eternal home on July 16, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on April 13, 1933, in Elva, Kentucky, Annie was one of thirteen children. She shared 51 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robert Thomas Norris, and devoted her life to caring for her family with quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and a servant’s heart.

Annie’s greatest joy was spending time with those she loved. She welcomed everyone with a warm smile and a place at her table. Her famous fried chicken, homemade chocolate pie, and coconut pie became treasured family traditions, and the memories made around her table will never be forgotten.

Annie loved to dance and could never sit through her favorite music without getting up and dancing around the room, especially when one of her favorite Alan Jackson songs was playing.

Anyone who knew Annie will remember her infectious giggle, often leaving her laughing so hard she couldn’t finish what she was trying to say. Her laughter is one of the many gifts her family will always cherish.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert Thomas Norris, and her children, Robert Darrell Norris, Tommy Norris, and Sandra Barnhill. She leaves behind her loving children, Debbie Nash (Robert), Sharon Reed, Darwin Norris, and Marian Dimitrievski (Bob); eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as surviving siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In her final years, Annie was lovingly cared for by her devoted daughter, Sharon Reed, with the love and support of her son, Darwin Norris, allowing her to remain surrounded by the comfort and dignity of family until the very end.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Centrica Care Hospice, whose doctors, nurses, caregivers, and staff provided compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support, bringing comfort to Annie and her loved ones during her final days.
