Service Details

Visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at noon at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Derl Keefer officiating. Interment will follow in Moorepark Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Arthur G. “Sam” Roberts, Jr., 85, of Constantine, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 2, 1936 in Corey, the son of Arthur G. and Rose (Wittendorf) Roberts, Sr.

On May 30, 1958 Sam was united in marriage to Catherine Louise Stump. The couple shared 61 years of marriage prior to her passing on January 14, 2020. Together they raised a family and Sam especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He loved to antique shop and could often be found at the Shipshewana auction on Wednesday mornings. He enjoyed antique cars, toys, bluegrass, banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass. Favorite activities included fishing, hunting, gardening, camping in the Upper Peninsula and traveling to the Florida Keys. He was a faithful believer and Sabbath follower who fellowshipped with the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Centreville.

Sam leaves to cherish his loving memory two daughters, Angela (David) Beegle and Molly (James) Kochan; one son, Arthur (Jenni) Roberts III; son-in-law, Francis Granzotto; grandchildren, Muriah (Erik) Gonzalez, Anthony (Holly) Granzotto, Kristina McLaughlin, Elijah Beegle, Noah Beegle, Alizah Beegle, Alyssa Madlem, Arthur Roberts IV, Carson Roberts, Addison Roberts; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Roberts Sr., Dan Roberts Sr., Don Roberts; sisters, Shirley Burnham, Barb Hemenway, Cindy Fenwick; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Renee Granzotto; one son, Mark Roberts; and sister, Rosemary Beldon.

Donations in Sam’s memory may be directed to the family of A. “Sam” Roberts c/o Angie Beegle. Envelopes are available at the funeral home in care of his arrangements.
