A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at noon at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers.
Obituary Notice
Bonita Jeanette Summers, 79, of Three Rivers, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born September 29, 1946 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Homer and Maxine (Kahler) Swartz, and graduated from Marcellus High School.
On July 3, 1975, Bonita married William “Bill” Summers; they had a passion of working on their house together.
She was a long time employee of CTS on third shift for 30 years in Elkhart, Indiana. She was an avid collector of Mickey Mouse and Precious Moments.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Joel Middlestadt; daughters, Julie (Tracy) Smith, Judith Summers, Jennifer (Mike) Fuller, and Janie (Joe) Ware; sisters, Bernadeen Bowlby, Beatrice Rowe, and Beth Harrell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill, in 2011; son, Jeff Middlestadt; four brothers, Carroll, Wayne, Roger, and Keith Swartz; sisters, Beverly and Barbara.
Bonita was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.

Grandma, I will love and miss you always! I know you’re happy to be back with Grandpa, Jeff, Keith, Josh and other loved ones! I know you all are having the biggest celebration together and watching over the family, helping us all to work through your passing! I’m at peace knowing you’re not suffering any longer! Bonnie. Please give dad a long hug. Tell Jeff I said hello. Grandma and Grandpa Summers and Uncle Ron too! But if possible tell my Josh I love him. I miss him so much. I’m going to miss you, Hunter is doing ok… he’s taking great care of your dogs. ♥️ no more pain no more breathing issues, you’re finally free.
