Service Details

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 7, 2024 at noon with Pastor Steve Miller officiating; a video is available here. He will be laid to rest at Moorepark Cemetery.

Obituary Notice

Brandon Gilbert Morrill (better known as Squirrel), age 38 of Three Rivers, passed away suddenly as a result of an automobile accident on June 2, 2024. He was born June 18, 1985 in Kalamazoo, Mich. to Dean and Connie Morrill.

Brandon was a loving husband and father to his wife McKenzie and sons Brody and Breckon. He loved fishing, hunting, and U of M football. Brandon was very outgoing and adventurous, had lots of friends, and was the life of every party.

He never missed an opportunity to coach his boys’ sports teams including football, baseball, and his favorite, wrestling. He has been involved in coaching MyWay Wrestling since 2013 and this past season he was the assistant wrestling coach at Three Rivers Middle School.

Brandon graduated from Three Rivers High School in 2004 and was a part of the 2003 State Football Championship Team. He worked at Metal Technologies, Inc. as a supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, McKenzie Morrill; sons, Brody Maize and Breckon Lee Morrill; his parents, Dean and Connie Morrill; grandfather, Gilbert Jackson; brothers, Brad (Melanie) Morrill, Travis (Kaylee) Morrill, and Cody (Morgan) Morrill; sisters, Ashley (Corey) Ray and Brittany (Matthew) Hartzell; several nieces and nephews, including Summer, Savannah, McKenna, Macyn, Carson, Ryland, Owen, Abby, Mikayla, Dax, Walker, Tyler, Alex, Luke, Parker, Waylan, and Wren; in-laws, Pete Roberts, Lari Roberts, Chelsey (Luke) Robinson; along with many other family members and friends. Brandon was preceded in death by brother Jason Morrill and grandparents Marvinn and Nathalie Morrill and Martha Jackson.

Additional Information

Memorials may be directed to his family in care of McKenzie Morrill, for the benefit of his sons. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

    Words cannot describe the heartache and grief we are experiencing with the loss of Brandon. Knowing Brandon since a young boy and watching him grow into a loving husband and an amazing father! Brandon lived life to the fullest. He was fearless, funny and became an outstanding young adult. I’m glad we had the opportunity to spend time with Brandon last week!     I am so saddened by the loss of Brandon. I have so many fond memories of him as a student at Andrews Elementary and, then later, when are paths crossed at TRHS.
    I will always remember him as a wonderful young man made who left a positive impression on anyone fortunate to know him.
