A celebration of Carl’s life will be held Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at the Portage Church of Christ, 6385 S. 12th St., Portage.

Obituary Notice

Carl Leroy Campbell, 65, of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 at his home.

He was born September 7, 1960 in Culver, Indiana, the son of John and Minnie (Vermillion) Campbell, and graduated from Culver High School with the Class of 1980.

Carl worked as a bakery clerk at Meijer. He also previously worked at American Axle & Manufacturing, Dexstar Wheel Company, Culver Academies, Walmart, Utilimaster, and Endeavor Air.

On October 14, 2018 he married Nancy Jean Hughey. Together, the two enjoyed going out for dinner and watching movies.

Carl loved animals, especially his German Shepherd Bo, his pitbull Zeus, and his parrot Shazam. He also enjoyed watching sports on the weekends and he and his dad were avid “cubby fans” as they followed both baseball and football teams of Colts and Bears. 

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Jean Campbell; stepchildren, Jeremy, Travis, and Corey; step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Katy (Johnnie) Berdine, Dottie Batta, Dustin (Kristen) McCarty, and Justin McCarty; sister, Karen Campbell; special friends, Kenneth Griffin and Chris Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife, Susan.
