Obituary Notice

Cheryl “Tracy” Marquardt, 50, of Mendon, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2020.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Gunnels; son, Paul E. (Justin) Lewis; son, Eric Gunnels; daughter, Nicole (Richard) Fromm; five grandsons and one granddaughter. She is also survived by her mother Cherri Bain and brother Chuck Marquardt as well as many chosen family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Marquardt.

Tracy loved taking care of her family and was an amazing cook. She had the ability to see the best in everyone even when it didn’t stand out and welcomed her chosen family with open arms. She was an involved mother and grandmother, and always tried to make the best memories out of any situation. She enjoyed meeting new people and creating friendships online.

She was an avid game player and was especially good at word games. The matriarch of our family will be missed by everyone who knew her and especially her family.

  1. I first met Tracy in high school. She was a kind fun loving friend then. We reconnected on Facebook and it was just like we had never lost touch- true friend right there. I was so very heart broke to hear of your passing !!! You loved your kids and your grandkids were a treasure to you. You loved them so much as well as your mother . You spoke of all of them often. I miss our talks. You were a great woman and I am blessed to have called you my friend. You are an Angel and I love and miss you my friend !!!

  2. I have known her and the whole family since about age 8. I am now 32. I still can’t wrap my head around all of this. This is so heart breaking 💔. She was an amazing woman and she will carry on through her children and grandchildren. I am deeply saddened by her death. My condolences to the family.

    • My heart truly breaks for Tracey’s Family!!! Although our time was short knowing one another I am absolutely greatful to have known such an amazing Woman! You always would tell me how much I inspired you well hunny it was really you whom inspired Me! I was absolutely inspired by the love that you have for your Family!!! You are truly one of the Lord’s Angels until we meet again my friend I pray that you rest easy.

  3. Tracy will be missed forever. She was a kind and good hearted woman. I wish I got to talk to her more, I was always happy to hear her voice in the background when I called the family :). Will miss you Tracy!

    • Known her for 20+ years now when i met her son, my best friend, eddie back in middle school…..always let me stay the night with him on weekends during middle school years. Just an all around great person n always took care of her family as much as she could. Amazing mother to her children and is missed very much yo those whose life she has touched. Love you mrs. Tracy
