Obituary Notice
Christina Nicole Hilyard, 40, of Three Rivers, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
She was born April 27, 1983 in Kalamazoo. Christina was the daughter of Donald F. and Virginia Schwemer. She graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 2002 and from Brown Mackie College with her LPN in 2012 and received her nursing license in September 2012. She worked as a nurse for Three Rivers Family Care, Memorial Hospital, and Maxim in-home care. She treated her patients with the utmost care, loved them each and was loved in return.
She loved her family, animals, Christmas, and “The Little Mermaid.” Her three beautiful children were her world and she enjoyed spending every minute she could with them. Christina had a fun-loving personality and the biggest heart. She was the first to offer help to anyone in need and made everyone she met feel loved. She was also a huge fan of practical jokes and had no shortage of prank ideas. Her loss will be felt by so many and she will be greatly missed.
Remaining to cherish Christina’s memory are her children, Darian, Kylee, and Gavin Hilyard; parents, Donald F. and Virginia Schwemer; grandfather, Paul Poe; brothers, Bert Peterson, Brian Peterson, and James (Melanie) Poe; sister, Michelle (Ryan) Morrow; several beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; a very special great-niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Peterson and Schwemer, grandma Poe, father Ronald Poe, and aunts and uncles.
Christina’s legacy will live on, as she was an organ donor through Gift of Life.

She was full of laughter and a great lady.
Christina was way too young and had so much to offer. Its extremely difficult to say the right thing at times like this, if there ever the right thing to say.
