Obituary Notice
Esther Sue Lowe, 65, of Three Rivers, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. Born October 27, 1960, in South Bend, Indiana, to Arthur William and Betty (Foreman) Challinor, Esther spent her early years in the Riverpark neighborhood of South Bend and at Pleasant Lake near Three Rivers, Michigan. She later lived in Waco, Texas, before returning to Three Rivers, where she lovingly cared for her parents.
Esther appreciated the simple joys of life, especially her time at Pleasant Lake. She cherished gatherings with family and neighbors, peaceful sunsets, summer thunderstorms, the grace of swans gliding across the water, and the return of eagles to the area. These moments brought her deep comfort and connection.
In recent years, Esther faced ongoing health challenges and was profoundly grateful for the kindness and support of the Three Rivers community—especially those who assisted with her medical care and transportation.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Lowe) Leon of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Holli Anne Pruitt and Andrew William Hill; siblings, Gloria Jean Eller of Angleton, Texas, Richard Edwin (Yvonne) Challinor of New Carlisle, Indiana, and Martha Ann Challinor of Alexandria, Virginia; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
