Service Details
In accordance with family wishes, cremation will be conducted, and a visitation held Friday, July 25, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers. This date marks their 72nd anniversary and commemorates that they are again celebrating together.

Obituary Notice
Evelyn Joan Glessner, 91, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Birch Meadows Senior Care.
She was born August 29, 1933 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Clarence and Rhea (Rifenberg) Kahler, and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the Class of 1951.
On July 25, 1953, Evelyn married the love of her life, Glen J. Glessner. The two enjoyed camping and traveling; they shared 60 years together prior to his passing in April 2014.
She enjoyed knitting and was an artist with colors. And she loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering them on from the bleachers.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Mark (Kimberly) Glessner of Jones; daughters, Barbara (Tim) Cutler-Swartz of Kalamazoo and Marcy (James) Hendress of Edwardsburg; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Matthew Rentfrow; brother, Richard Kahler; and sister, Thelma Jean Hansmeier.

Donations in Evelyn’s memory may be directed to Birch Meadows Senior Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

So very sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing . What a sweet soft spoken Lady with a Lovely Smile. She was one of the first people we met when our Mother was at Birch Meadows. We enjoyed our talks and her sharing her drawings with us. The Lord has another Angel. Prayers for the Family for strength and grace for all the days ahead. God Bless,

I offer my deepest condolences to the family of Evelyn. I enjoyed talking with her, and watching as she colored (so very well) with her great grandchildren. I know she will be missed very much.
I’m so sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing but I know your parents are celebrating with mine. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I send my love.
I am sending condolences to all three of you kids, all of your children and grandchildren. Evelyn was a great example for all of you and a big influence in all your lives. She may have left this world but a part of her will be with each of you as you go forward in your lives and affect the lives of others. She was very proud of all of you and will continue to be as she looks down from above.
I can’t be there to celebrate her life on the day of the visitation but know that I would love to have seen you all again. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
