Service Details

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Hohner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Edwards Corners Bible Church 51047 Chamberlain Rd., Marcellus, MI. with Pastor Joshua Wiggins officiating.

Interment will be held in Locust Grove Cemetery, Burr Oak, MI.

Obituary Notice

Mr. Floyd Ray Eichorn, age 87, of Three Rivers, formerly of Marcellus, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Three Rivers Health surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 7, 1931 in Clarence, New York the son of the late Lewis and Ida (Troyer) Eichorn.

Floyd has been a long-time resident of this area where he and his wife and family spent many days working the family farm. Floyd and Marnetta were self-employed carpet layers and worked together for 18 years. Floyd was a faithful and verdant member of Edwards Corners Bible Church. Floyd loved to work with his hands. He tinkered with woodworking and even built his own mini train set and landscapes. Floyd had a passion for visiting with friends and family and loved to tell stories.

Floyd was preceded in death his parents, one daughter, Judy Rochon, four sisters and three brothers.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife of 67 years Marnetta Mae (Hooley) Eichorn, of Three Rivers; two sons, Joseph (Pamela) Eichorn, of Three Rivers, and Jay (Evelyn) Eichorn, of The Plains, VA.; two daughters, June Evans, of Three Rivers and Jenny (William) Curtis, of Marcellus, brother Paul (Fran) Eichorn of Centerville; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Additional Information

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Edwards Corners Bible Church. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home and the church.

  1. Sorry about Dad, June & Joe, Got to know him in the 80’s when he worked for Sands Industries. He taught me a thing or 2 over the years that helped me along my way. He was a good person. Sorry I didn’t make in to see you on Sunday.

  2. Grace and peace to you all. I have many good memories of Floyd as I was growing up at Moorepark Church. Great memories of the youth group and coming to your home, and even the pet squirrel when you lived on Michigan Avenue. Rejoicing that he is with Jesus.

  3. My sympathy to the entire Eichorn family. I have many great memories playing in the pastures at the farm. Floyd and Marnetta have shown many couples how to “make it work.” Floyd was a great story teller. I will miss the laughter and jokes.

  4. My condolences, prayers, and love are with each of Floyd’s family members, especially Joe, Pam, and their family. May God comfort all who grieve because of Floyd’s passing.

  5. A very talented – gifted man … he was very interesting and enjoyed him sharing his wealth of knowledge and story’s … He was an inspiration and joy to talk to – may Gods Peace Rest on your family as he will be greatly missed. He certainly lived a full productive life!
