Obituary Notice

Gloria Jean Morton, 72, of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at her home.

Gloria was born in Niagara Falls, New York in 1951 where she graduated from Niagara Falls Senior High School and lived until 1983 when she moved to Three Rivers permanently until her death. During her life she worked as a department store manager, a foundry worker and a zumba instructor. She was also a wig shop owner in downtown Three Rivers at one time.

Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michele Carr; grandchildren, Desiree Horrocks, Adrienne Conklin, Amara Landolt, Courtney Murphy, Christopher Conklin, Ashley Carr, Makala Carr, Matthew Carr and Jazmyn Carr; great-grandchildren, Dorian Taylor, Isola Horrocks, Arlo Horrocks, Emeri Lou Fry, Theo Fry, Jahla Landolt, Daniel Landolt, Ira Landolt, Gloria Landolt, Kayden Brouse and Addyson Murphy. Her brother, Darryl Morton of Three Rivers. Nieces she helped raise, Jerlyn Morton and Tamika Jenkins, and their children, Darryl Morton Esq., Dasia Morton, Azaria Morton, Dylon Morton, Tiera Price, and K’Shawn Price, among many other lives she touched as family or friend.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Elnora Morton; her father, Harold Morton; sisters, Adrienne and Charlene Morton; brothers, Gilbert and Harold Morton Jr.; and her dog, Simone.

    My prayers go out to family and love ones.

    I would like to think that I was her favorite carpenter, whether its true or not.
    I did major work on two of her homes and have known her for many years.

    I told her once that she was the reason I’m still single, because once in her presence, life looks different.

  2. I used to have brief conversations with her at Health Trac. She was a lovely friendly woman and I always considered her a nice person. To her family, please accept my sincere condolences.
