Obituary Notice

Holly Lynn Havens, 46, a woman of faith and courage, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Three Rivers Health.

She was born February 10, 1975 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Michael and Jackie (Oswalt) Havens.

As a young girl, Holly loved riding horses, and competed on a national circuit where she won many awards.

She attended White Pigeon High School where she was first chair clarinet and a member of the Flag Corps in the marching band, co-captain of the cheerleading team, a Girl Scout, and a member of the Student Council. She graduated from Constantine High School with the Class of 1993.

Holly’s working career included as an administrative assistant at Lear, for Armstrong as a college student and H&R Block. Her best years came when she worked for First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers/Centreville, most recently as the Program Assistant for the United Community Assistance Program, helping many in need obtain food and gas vouchers.

She had three cats, and was especially fond of her current feline companion, Cleo.

Holly loved to entertain; she cooked amazing desserts and even received awards from the Kalamazoo Women’s Club for her recipes.

She faced many health challenges during her life, but pressed on through them with a smile and bravery that will always be remembered by those who loved and cared for her.

Remaining to cherish Holly’s memory are her parents, Michael and Jackie Havens of White Pigeon; aunt, Patricia (Hank) Snow; uncle, Martin (Melanie) Oswalt; cousin, Mindy (William) Reid.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Eileen Oswalt, Henry Havens and Jeanne Bent.

Additional Information

Donations in Holly’s memory may be directed to the St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund, First Presbyterian Church Three Rivers/Centreville, or the Three Rivers Lions Club. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home.

  1. I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Holly. I worked with her breifly at Lear Corporation. I remember her as a young energetic young lady who had a beautiful smile. She was so bubbly and brought happiness to all. May God bring you peace and comfort during this very sad time.

    May God comfort you and your family and may his peace be yours.
    I remember Holly as a little girl down at the horse barn when I was riding.
    I remained friends with her and kept up with all she had going on, if I posted
    a picture of my horse Lady the buckskin on Facebook she would always tell me how much
    she liked her and she remembered her in the barn.

    • I am so sorry to hear of Holly’s passing. She always told me she had already lived longer than expected. I wasn’t ‘expecting’ but as a Mom who has laid to rest two sons, I know all too well that tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us. Holly really was a very special person. My heart is breaking and I will surely miss her.
      My sincere condolences to the family.
