Service Details
His family will receive friends Saturday, August 22, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Moorepark Community Church, 55701 Wilbur Rd., Three Rivers. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the church.
Obituary Notice
On Monday, August 10, 2026, Jacob “Robert” Jaramillo, a Christian, loving husband, and beloved friend to many, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 66.
Jake was born on July 21, 1960, in Barstow, California, to Noemi and Juan Christobal Jaramillo. He was raised in Barstow, where he spent his early years. After finding the love of his life, Vicki Hill, the two were married on July 28, 1990. They lived in Barstow until 1994, when they moved to Sturgis, Michigan, where they became a loved and cherished part of many lives.
Jake was a devoted husband, generous friend, and someone who could always bring laughter into a room. Those who knew him best would describe him as funny, kind, and, in the best possible way, a little quirky. Jake loved Jesus, his family, and his beloved Los Angeles Lakers.
Jake never needed a title or a family connection to make someone feel like family. He simply loved people, welcomed them into his life, and made them feel valued. In return, he was deeply loved by the many people whose lives he touched.
Jake leaves behind his loving wife, Vicki Jaramillo; siblings, Danny (Jeanette) Jaramillo, Edwina Jaramillo, Dorothea (Adrian) Flores, and Irma (Dave) McNeil; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind the many people he lovingly “adopted” into his family over the years—those who may not have been family by blood but became family by love, including those who proudly called him Uncle Jake and Grandpa Jake. His heart had a way of making people feel like they belonged, and he cherished each of these relationships dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Jake will be deeply missed, but his laughter, generosity, quirky personality, and love will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of all who knew him.
You beat us There, Jake, but we’ll see you again. This isn’t goodbye—it’s simply, “See you later.”
Additional Information
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his wife, Vicki Jaramillo, or to Centrica Rose Arbor Place. Envelopes will be available at the church and at Hohner Funeral Home.

We love you Vicki and Jacob. Though we didn’t talk often I thought of you guys often . We used to go to the college and we used to have a lot of fun laughing and going to eat back in the 80s. Picking you up and going to the grocery store with my mom and working at Harts Cafe together . We’ll see you again someday. I’m glad we were taught the plan of salvation so we could see each other again someday. Love your little sister. Irma
Vicki, We are so sorry for your loss. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time with you and Jacob, those times we were together were memorable and fun. As you mourn, I know you are comforted by the knowledge that your husband is with Jesus and that you will join him again in eternity. Our prayers are with you.
Vicki, thank you for being such a loving wife to Jacob. He loved you so much. Jacob became a Christian in his teen years at Yermo Bible Church. He loved God faithfully.
I so happy I was able to visit you guys a few weeks ago. The last thing Jacob said to me was “Everything is going to be all right.” He was a good brother. I love you Vicki.

Vicki we are so sorry for your loss. Jacob was a great guy and just a great person. Danny and I will miss him so much. I am thankful for the relationship that he and Danny shared, even though many miles apart, throughout their lives. They were best friends and always had each other’s back. There will definitely be a void in Danny’s heart. I’m so thankful that we were able to talk to Jacob and see a smile on his face and a thumbs up 👍 We love you and will always be here for you.

Jake you will be greatly missed. You were a wonderful husband to my beautiful niece., and for that I am so grateful. You were such a happy couple. Some day we’ll meet again in Heaven.
