A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Moorepark Cemetery on Moorepark Road between US Highway 131 and Buckhorn Road with Chaplain Ellen officiating.

Obituary Notice

Jason Lee Alford, 80, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 3:15 a.m. surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Knox County, Ky. on Aug. 15, 1939 to Roxie (Baird) Alford and Green Alford.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel “Sue” Alford, sons, David Alford of Three Rivers and Jason Tillman (Anne) of New York; daughters, Beverly Ashcraft (Scott) of Virginia and Cheryl Hussey (Andy) of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Molly Alford, Rachel Alford, Grace Hussey, Mathew Hussey and Sophia Hussey all of Three Rivers; sister, Gwen “Dot” of Cincinnati, Ohio.

They moved to Three Rivers in 1964 and lived here all their married life. Their three children graduated from Three Rivers.

Jason was a hard worker and retired at age 70 from Ventline Corporation in Bristol, where he worked for 35 years.

His hobbies were birdwatching, gardening, going to church, and especially spending time with his wife, family and friends.

Additional Information

Memorials made in Jason’s memory may be directed to the Heartland Hospice Care in his name. Envelopes are available and may be sent to Hohner Funeral Home in care of his arrangements.

  1. My sympathies to his lovely wife and family during this ongoing time of change and the sadness of missing Jason daily as a loved husband, father and grandfather. Be ever mindful that Jason was a great guy and that he was very grateful to have had you as a wife and family. He told me so many times. You as his family and we as his friends live on with Jason as a part of us and the world is a much better place with because of that legacy.
