Obituary Notice
Joseph Lawrence Moser Jr., 77, of Three Rivers, passed away Monday, November 2, 2026, at Three Rivers Health. He was born August 29, 1949, in Three Rivers, the son of Joseph L. Sr. and Barbara A. (Bingaman) Moser, and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1967. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Kirchner and Sandra Moser.
He was known to some as “Smokin’ Joe” Moser, a moniker earned after winning countless first-place trophies on his widowmaker Kawasaki 750 H2 at the dirt drags. As time passed, Smokin’ Joe transitioned into Uncle Joe. Uncle Joe was the person most people knew and loved. He would be there for anyone who needed a hand up, a friend, a listening ear, a fishing buddy, or a ride to court. Uncle Joe was animated, charming, and friendly, though his blunt honesty could sometimes catch you off guard, and he rarely backed down from his point of view.
Uncle Joe adored you, and he loved all of us so deeply. Even though he’s no longer with us, you can rest assured he’s still in your corner, cheering you on every step of the way.
Where is he now? I’m guessing he is either hillclimbing with Carlos or holding Connie’s hand. Wherever he is, you can bet he’s happy—probably fishing on the side of the road somewhere, if I am honest.
Joseph Lawrence Moser Jr. is survived by his brother, Michael; sons, Rick of San Francisco, CA, and Joe of TN; granddaughter, Dixie Brickey of MO; and great-grandchildren, Otto and Adelaide Brickey, also of MO.
